• Security DogsWe do train dogs for use by the Security Industry in South Africa. These dogs can be bought or rented on a monthly basis. • ExplosivesContrary to what laymen may assume, or believe dogs, are imprinted and trained to detect vapor which, no matter what, is given off by chemicals, human or other objects that are being searched for. If the dog is correctly imprinted and trained he will search for and find the object in question. In the case of a landmine, whether it is buried underground, above ground, in a vehicle or receptacle, he will find it and indicate the presence thereof. Dogs are trained to detect hidden arms, ammunition and/or explosives where ever both indoor, buildings, vehicles and receptacles as well as outdoor eg. underground, under buildings, in forests etc. • Passive People Response DogsThis is a dog that has been trained to move, together with it's handler, amongst passengers and spectators at air terminals, etc. scenting for explosives. • Landmine Detection DogsK-9 Technology Dogs trains and deploys landmine detection dog teams, each team consists of one handler with two dogs. All dogs are carefully selected and imported from working stock. • Narcotics Detection DogsThis is also exactly the same concept as explosives dogs. Although narcotics dogs do not really fall within the definition of security, it is possible that this work could be undertaken by the security company at the airport as a service and against payment from the police agency in question. Such a service should be welcomed by a police agency as it would help alleviate manpower shortages and also the necessity form them to acquire this type of dog. • Personal Protection dogsThis type of dog is targeted at the upper income market. With car hi-jacking, housebreaking and theft crimes taking off in the more elite suburbs, the appearance of a personal protection dog is long overdue. This is a dog that has been extensively trained in obedience, attack and search techniques. Should the owner, for whatever reason, be apprehensive about entering the house, upon arriving home, the dog could be commanded to search the house whilst the owner waited outside. • Patrol/Apprehension dogsThese are specialist dogs that have been trained to function with a handler. The most effective team is that of one dog with one handler and not multi-handlers. The patrol dog is trained to apprehend fleeing persons, to search buildings, containers, vehicles, etc., for persons in hiding, or objects, such as possible vidence that has been discarded. • Corridor dogsThese dogs do not have specific handlers and, in fact, function between wire fence corridors on the perimeters of a property, around storage areas, etc. the dogs are placed in the corridors for their stint of duty. • ATM and other Bank related Crime Preventative dogsThe ATM dog is a dog, ie. German Shepard dog, that has been trained to walk next to his handler through crowded street and pavement, without biting innocent people. He has been taught to apprehend anyone, ie. Bag snatcher, who is fleeing through areas congested with pedestrians, and to only apprehend the suspect that he set out to apprehend. He is also trained to search for a suspect who could have run and hidden himself in a car park, etc. • Arson Detection dogsThese dogs are capable of identifying the point of ignition, if a fire has been deliberately caused by way of an accelerant. In most cases of arson the fire is ignited by way of an accelerant. The abilities of the arson dog has been demonstrated to the South African Fire Protection Association who were suitably impressed. • Gold, Platinum, Ivory and Rhino Detection DogsK-9 Technology Dogs has the knowledge, skills and abilities to train dogs in the search and detection of gold, platinum, ivory and rhino horn. • Search and Rescue dogsRescue dogs are specially trained to search for, and locate, persons lost in forests, on mountains, underground, etc. they are also trained to search for and locate buried bodies. The dogs are capable of searching for drowned submerged bodies and are able to pinpoint an underwater area where divers could locate the drowned victims body. |
